Write for Fear Free Childbirth

We publish two kinds of contributors – practitioners who know this territory, and women who've lived it. Both matter. Both reach women who need them.

Path one · Professional

You know something our readers need to hear

If you work in midwifery, obstetrics, perinatal mental health, therapy, counselling or birth support – and you have something specific to say about reproductive fear, anxiety or trauma – we want to hear from you.

This is not a platform for general pregnancy advice. Our readers have read that already. They're looking for the piece that finally makes sense of what they're experiencing – and that often comes from someone who works with women like them every day.

What you get:

  • A byline on a publication read in 180+ countries
  • A full author bio with a link to your practice or work
  • A "Published in Fear Free Childbirth" badge to embed on your website
  • An audience that genuinely needs what you know

What we ask in return: we ask contributors to share their published piece with their own audience and, where possible, to link to it from their website – a press page, resources section or "as seen in" area. This is how your work reaches the women who need it, and how FFC grows the readership that makes publishing your work worthwhile.

Path two · Your story

Your story could be the one that helps someone through the night

If you've experienced tokophobia, pregnancy anxiety, birth fear, birth trauma or reproductive trauma – and you're at a point where you're ready to talk about it – we'd love to hear from you.

You don't need to be a writer. You don't need a tidy ending. You just need to be willing to share honestly, and to let us help you shape it into something that reaches the women still in the middle of what you've been through.

You stay in control of your story throughout. Nothing goes live without your approval. You can use your full name, a first name, or a pseudonym – whatever feels right.

What to expect: we'll have a conversation first. Then you write, or we help you write. You review everything. You approve it. We publish it. If you ever want it removed, we'll act on that immediately.

What we publish – and what we don't

Both paths are held to the same editorial standards. Our readers often find us on the worst night of their year – that sets the bar for everything we publish.
